Life as I know it

So I finally had a minute to sit down for a minute and thought I would update and vent about a few things. First of all, last Friday Dan and I went to a Sonics game in Seattle. We had tix from Christmas and it was a great game! I had a blast and we were high fiving and jumping around. (I finally found something that Dan and I can get excited about together).

Now for the venting.....I hate car dealers! We needed to get our power steering fixed on our mazda and what a time we had finally getting it done. To make a really long story shorter we first took it to VIP mazda in Abby and they tried to milk us for all we were worth with no success. Just call us the Holmes of vehicle repair. We ended up getting our car back still with only armstrong steering and our engine light on (of which we paid over $400 to have them fix). So we then took it to Morrey Mazda in North Van. They were great about most stuff, including quoting us $500 less for the part than what VIP did. Now yesterday afternoon rolled around ( about 4:30) and I received a call from Morrey that they wouldn't be able to finish the car that night. Okay you say, no problem they will just provide a courtesy car so that I can get home! Ya Right! Apparently they were all used and they proceeded to tell me that I could rent one at my own expense! Excuse Me I Says! I had it out with the guy on the phone and after saying that he would need to drive me home to Abbotsford, he finally agreed that they would pick up the tab! I now have my car back (engine light still on - it's kinda pretty though) and do I have a new appreciation for those people who get around with out a car every day! Kudos to you all!

Winter Fun

I know I am really bad at updating this thing! One of my youth girls said that she looks at it and thinks I need to update more so here goes! On Saturday Dan and I went up to Manning Park to go snowshoeing! A first for both of us and yes Dan was willing to brave the snow.We had a great time! I forgot how beautiful it was out there and at one point it was sunny and snowing! I Love that, it reminds me of Calgary! Who knew that walking on top of the snow was quite the work out...or it could just be that we are out of shape :) either way two hours of traipsing through the forest was rewarded with some chocolate before we were on our way home! I think we might even purchase some snowshoes and go more often!

It's a New Year

So here we are welcoming a new year! Last night my mom and I held our annual open house (at our house this year). We figured about 60-70 people stopped by for hot chocolate and cookies and all went well even with my fears of my floor collapsing! It's a funny thing to watch when you combine our friends with my moms friends into one room for an evening.
This year should be an exciting one. We have a lot of new adventures to take on with Dan's company starting and hopefully I will finally be quitting my job in North Van for good! I am going to have a party the day I hand in my resignation and you all are invited to attend!
We had a great holiday with friends coming home from school and making some of our own traditions, so here is to another year that we have been blessed with!
